About Us

Barks and Purrs L.A. was founded by Tara Brownrigg, who has been offering pet sitting and animal care services for 20 years.

Tara's mom raised, bred and showed English Bulldogs and German Schnauzers, and had many prize winning champions including Best Of Show, Best Of Breed, and Best Of Puppy. Her mom also had a kennel named Shirlwin's Kennels and grooming business. Tara grew up not only with tons of dogs always all about but also cats and horses. As a young girl she not only babysat for their neighbors but also cared for their animals as well. She has been a pet owner all her life. And as the owner of a diabetic pet she fully understands the sensitive nurturing care needed.

Over the years Tara has worked with several families, helping their adopted and rescued pets make the adjustment into their new homes with love and ease.

Tara has also trained several puppies that have been in the "Seeing Eye Program", and whom have gone on to become Seeing Eye Guide dogs for the Blind. This experience has given her the ability to utilize these rapid, precise yet loving methods to train puppies, helping families to enjoy the most wonderful years with their pets.

Located in Beverly Hills, Barks and Purrs L.A. proudly serves Beverly Hills, Bel Air, West L.A., West Hollywood, Hancock Park, and the surrounding areas.
